40th Birthday Edition!
On Saturday 22nd February 2025, Slaithwaite turned out in style, great numbers and in perfect weather to celebrate Moonraking’s 40th Birthday.
Over 2000 people joined in with the parade, and 242 lanterns were counted on the night.

Slawit SHOP! Project
Moonraking 2025 was the opening ceremony for the Slawit SHOP! project, a National Lottery Heritage-funded project which uncovers 100 years of history from the eight shops on the Carr Lane Parade — the backdrop to the Slaithwaite Moonraking Festival.
Come and join in the culmination of events – a Parade Party on Saturday 17th January 2 – 5pm at Carr Lane Slaithwaite

Lunar Levy
A unique fundraising scheme asking for a penny in every pound spent in the village, to enable the Slaithwaite Moonraking Festival to take place every two years….it is the odd festival in the odd year! Do you need to pay your Lunar ‘tax’ ?!
